What to expect when visiting an Oregon Recreational Marijuana Dispensary (podcast #3)

Recreational marijuana dispensaries are open for business across Oregon. They can sell marijuana to adults 21+ with valid ID, there are no residency requirements to purchase.

Acceptable forms of ID: U.S. ID card, state-issued driver’s license, or passport/passport card, valid ID from any U.S. territory, an ID from a federally recognized Indian tribe showing name, photo, and date of birth, unexpired military ID cards, temporary paper ID renewal cards from DMV.

Can I use my expired ID? NO

Can I use my ODOC ID? NO

Can I use my conceal to carry ID? NO

Can I use my green card? NO

Can I use my permanent residence card? NO

Can I use my Canadian Driver's License? NO

Can I use my ID and I am 21 tomorrow? HELL NO

Can I use my out of any foreign country's ID? NO

Can I use my expired DMV renewal card? NO

Can I use a unexpired, altered with duck tape ID card ? NO

Am I going to get fired for letting you in without a proper valid ID? HELL NO

Purchasing Limits:

If you are 21 years of age or older and possess a valid government-issued ID, you are able to purchase cannabis flower, seeds, clones, edibles, concentrates and several other products containing cannabinoids. However, there are limitations on the amounts of each you are able to purchase from a licensed retailer.

If you are of legal age and possess a valid ID, you are able to purchase:

• 1 ounce of usable cannabis (i.e. dried flower)

• 5 grams of cannabis concentrates or extracts

• 16 ounces of cannabis edibles in solid form

• 72 ounces of cannabis products in liquid form

• 10 cannabis seeds

• 4 immature cannabis plants

We dont have a tracking system with the other dispensaries to know if you have been there today and have gone over your limit. However, IT IS ILLEGAL FOR US TO SELL TO YOU IF YOU TELL US THAT YOU HAVE DONE SO...take this wonderful tidbit and dont ask about it.

Every Dispensary has also has a wide variety of products and prices.

We sell some OZ's at $580. We have some $6 prerolls. We have some edibles at $10.

If I tell you we dont sell a certain brand, dont ask me why or where to get it. That is a slippery slope of talking about another Dispensary that is technically our competition. Dont get angry is I refer you to LEAFLY!

Some dispensaries have you wait in the lobby, then get called into the sales floor a few at a time. Some have you just line up and wait your turn. Ask Questions here, Order here, Pay Here. No matter if you stand in line to order, then pay, or something different, COVID has changed the way we all do business for the time being. Expect to spend some time at the dispensary and try to enjoy the experience.

We are considered essential employees and have been working tirelessly. Most people who come in are very wonderful and thankful that our dispensaries are even open and that many Bud Tenders are willing to work during this time. We have families of our own and get tired like everyone else. If you come in ruining our vibes, expect to get curt service and dont let the door hit you on the way out. If I had a damn dollar for every time someone told me they were going to a different dispensary down the road...I'd only have about $8. That's amazing for 13 months working in this industry!!
